How it works

Two sides of one good conversation

Mentees bring the goals. Mentors bring the experience. Our team makes the introduction.

  1. Tell us what you need

Answer a few questions about your goals, field, stage, languages and how you like to meet. It takes a few minutes.

  2. See who could help

Our matcher ranks checked mentors against your answers and shows why each one fits. Pick up to three you would like to meet.

  3. We confirm the match

A member of our team reads your request, checks the fit with the mentor and introduces you both by email.

  4. Meet and make progress

Start with a career conversation or a short program. You set the goals; your mentor shares what they have learned.

Find a mentor

  1. Apply to mentor

Tell us about your experience, the help you can offer and the time you have. It is voluntary and flexible.

  2. We check you

We confirm your identity, review your LinkedIn profile or contact a referee, and ask for a Working with Children Check where it is relevant.

  3. Your profile goes live

With your consent we publish a profile showing your first name and last initial, never your contact details.

  4. We introduce mentees

When a request suits you we ask first. You can say no to any match, pause or step away at any time.

Questions

Questions people ask

Is mentoring free?

Yes. Mentoring through Career Calling Mentors is free for mentees. Our mentors are volunteers who give their time.

Who are the mentors?

Experienced professionals from many industries who want to help others take their next step. Every mentor is checked by our team before a profile goes live.

How does matching work?

You answer a few questions and the matcher ranks published mentors by industry, the help you need, the stage you are at, language and how you like to meet. It shows why each mentor matched. A person on our team then confirms every match before anyone is introduced.

Will a mentor find me a job?

No. A mentor shares experience, perspective and practical advice so you can make better decisions and present yourself well. They are not recruiters, and we cannot promise any job or outcome.

Can I choose my mentor?

You can name up to three mentors you would like to meet. We try to match you with one of them, and if that is not possible we will suggest someone else and ask you first.

Can people under 18 join?

Mentoring is for adults by default. A mentee under 18 can take part only with a parent or guardian's consent and our team's approval, and only with a mentor who holds a Working with Children Check. We confirm the parent or guardian's consent before any match.

Do you share my contact details?

Never publicly. We share your first name and the goals you give us with a mentor only when you have asked to be matched and they have agreed. Introductions are made by our team.

One conversation can change the next step.

Ask for a mentor, or offer an hour of your experience to someone starting out.
